School of Music Director

The School of Music (SOM) at Orangeville Christian School (OCS) offers private lessons by qualified, Christian instructors.  All lessons, including make-ups, are taught within the school, during the school day at competitive rates.  The SOM director is responsible for the operation, administration and leadership of the program.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with exceptional skills in organizing, time management, people management, recordkeeping and musical instruction. The director will report to the principal, and he/she will be subject to the rules and instructions of OCS.  The director’s relationship with OCS will be that of an independent contractor.  A detailed Job Description is available upon request

Part-time Music Teacher

King Alfred Academy is accepting applications for a part-time music teacher. We are looking for someone who loves the Lord, loves children and a passion for teaching students God’s beauty as seen in music.

King Alfred Academy is a classical Christian school that is excited to begin our second year in North Waterloo. As a young school, we are an intimate community. Music and/or Drama Teacher

About us. We’re growing! We are a young classical Christian school preparing for our fourth year. We started with 18 students in JK-2, and we’re anticipating 80+ students in JK-7 next year. Our community is intimate, we have our own curriculum (not Ontario’s), we’re low on tech (and high on books, art, and nature), and we love the gospel of grace that makes us right with God and one another. The position. The ideal candidate will be a gifted music and drama teacher. We are very open to hiring two separate teachers to fill the music and drama roles respectively. This teacher will teach three sections (Grades 3, 4/5, and 6/7) twice per week, and will work with our JK-2 Music teacher in coordinating our anticipated Christmas concert and Spring musical.

The ideal candidate will be an active musician / drama artist and an effective teacher with a passion to inspire students to love what God loves through the arts. This person will be willing to learn about classical education theory and implement classical teaching practices in their class. They will take our developed curriculum, and further curate beautiful music from both classical and folk traditions to instruct, delight, and inspire virtue.

The music teacher will teach vocal performance, choir etiquette, listening skills, music theory, and composer history. There is possibility for instrumental performance as well. The drama teacher will teach towards drama and/or musical performance, including script rehearsal, blocking, stage etiquette, etc.

The ideal candidate will hold articulate, deep biblical convictions of the importance of music for virtue and life. This person will create an orderly, calm, and inspiring class atmosphere. Beauty and the arts are high priority at Oak Hill, as Music, Theatre, and Art play a critical role in shaping the affections of our students.

Elementary Music Teacher

50 % Music Teacher/Band instructor

Grade 3/4 Teacher with a Music Qualification

Rhema Christian School is looking for a part-time grade 3/4 teacher with a music qualification. This position would be a combination of grades 3/4 as well as rotary music and band.

Music Teacher

Rockway is reimagining its Music program in keeping with its rich musical tradition. This teaching opportunity will include teaching various vocal classes and Grade 7-12 Strings. Depending on the suitability of the candidate(s), it may be one position or divided into separate positions, ranging between .30 FTE and .86 FTE.

The hope is to commence this position in September 2021 (will depend on COVID protocols). If over .50 FTE, the position will include a benefit package.
